I had an Ohaus 1005 scale that I bought in the mid 60s.

Your's is a twin except for the colors.

Made by Ohaus, branded for RCBS and Lyman. Excellent product, I have the D5 which is the same scale as the 505.

This is the same as the RCBS 10-10 scale. Excellent quality and it looks still brand new. Use it my friend it will last you the next 50 years.

Not quite the same. Frame is the same, beam is the same beam as the 505. Look closely and compare.

I got my Lyman M5 over twenty years ago in a trade for "stuff". My guess is it was over 20 years old at the time so a rough guess is they were in production 45 years ago maybe 50. The Lynan M5 is one of the best scales I own and if I see another at a swap meet, flea market or anywhere else I would buy it. Take note that the included weitht is not a test or check weight but used to increase the range of the scale.

I had Scott go over my Lyman M. Best money I've spent.
