7.62x39 drums
I've noticed on most drums I see for sale, including the one I own, that there is a metal "D-ring" type deal at about the 4 o'clock position if looking at the mag from behind with the feed lips to the sky. I assume this is to run a strap thru to sling the drum over your shoulder, but at least to me, that sounds like a way to lose a bunch of ammo.
Anyone actually ever use it for something while running your drum? Or is it just there to make extra noise? LOL |

I never touched mine. My guess is it is there to help pull the mag out of whatever pouch you put it in. Kinda like how Magpul puts those loops on the bottom of AR mags.
