question concerning a brass brush. and 45 frontier

Hey all,

Quick question I left some scratches in some Bluing using a brass brush that I had clipped shorterrgis surprised me felt horrible. Now I find out that some brass brushes can have steel cores? And clipping them exposes the steel?
Could anyone post an image if a bronze brush (no steel) looks like compared to the one with steel?
Is really appreciate it. So I know what to look for

Is 45 frontier worth ordering?

Why was you using a brass brush on blueing? Its for bore cleaning and the nylon brushes are for gleaning the out side .

What color are the scratches? Silver, or gold?
If gold, it's simply residual brass from the brush. Using a bore solvent on them should remove them. Very few, if any, bore brushes are brass plated steel, to my knowledge.

Try 000 steelwool soaked in breakfree, its easier on the blueing than a wire brush.a lot of cheaper brushes are coated rather than solid.
