HELP with Ruger 30-06 Sprg M77
I need help putting the bolt back in my Ruger 30-06 Sprg M77. It was removed by a friend so it could fly, but having extreme difficulty getting it past the safety. Everything lines up, has to be something simple I'm missing. HELP!! Shell

He may have gotten it uncocked while out of the gun. Look at the orientation of the cocking piece and bolt handle. Do they look like they are in the position for the action to be open? If not, you must give the bolt shroud a good twist to get the striker cocked for the bolt to go in.

Thanks a million!
Thanks!! I was turning it, but not far enough. I'm new to alot of this. The rifle was my dad's. It shoots great, but I'm not very familiar with alot of the technical stuff. This has been a great learning experience for me. Thanks again. Shell
