mossberg 500/500a parts question?

I posted this in the shotgun section but it may be better suited here.

This has more than likely been asked a few times but I could not find it in the search. Are barrels interchangable between model 500 and 500a? are any parts?

I just picked up a 12 gauge 500AB Chambered 2 3/4 and 3" with a 28" modified choke barrel. I is an engraved receiver with pheasants on it and it says " Country Squire" on it. I got it for FREE if you consider trading some old junk I have not used in a long time for it free. I could not pass up the deal.

I am looking for general information on parts I would would like to get a slug barrel too.

go to Numrich's web site and you will find many of the parts will interchange. A few will be specifically for one or the other, but the majority of them will work for either gun. Good luck with it.
