California State IDPA Championships - Richmond - Oct. 9-11

2009 California State IDPA Championship
Richmond, California
October 9-11, 2009

Registration for the California State IDPA Championship is now open. This year's match will be held at the Bay Area's own Richmond Rod & Gun Club in Richmond, CA.

Match Website:
http://www.California-IDPA.com

The match will include 12 stages, 150 competitor slots, and nearly 18,000 rounds expended over two days. We will also have a large prize table and a Sunday BBQ lunch included with the registration fee.

The dates are Friday, October 9th, Saturday, October 10th, and Sunday, October 11th. Safety Officers and Staff will shoot on Friday, with the main competition taking place Saturday. Side matches, BBQ lunch, and awards ceremony will take place Sunday.

The match will be open to classifications of Marksman or better, and you will need to have either shot a Classifier Match or a Sanctioned Match after October 1, 2008 (requirement not applicable to "Master" classification).

This is a great opportunity to take part in a major shooting competition, even if you don't consider yourself a "championship" shooter. We encourage you to consider competing and enjoying a great day of shooting and fun.

We also have several staff positions still open if you wish to help out and earn a substantial discount off the match fee.

For more information, see the website or contact the Match Director (me) at [email protected].

Thank you,

Jim Griffiths, Match Director

Jim, are there any special laws that out of state shooters would want to know about before trying to transport their firearms into california?

The only pertinent law pertains to hi-cap magazines. Legally, they cannot be brought into the state, even if you are only visiting.

I've never heard of anyone getting busted when coming in for a competition, but that is still the law.

Upcoming classifiers

Richmond will hold two classifiers in the coming months:

1) Saturday, May 23rd

Both will start at 930am. Please email [email protected] or [email protected] if you are planning to shoot.

Note that you do need to be a member of IDPA to receive a classification.

Just a quick heads up...there are only 30 slots left in the match. When we hit 150, we cannot take any more shooters due to time constraints.
