.22 Revolver

My local club has weekly target shoots, bowling pin, steel plates, and such. All are timed events. I'd like to be able to compete in the .22 revolver class. I'd love to have a Smith 617 but it's not currently within my budget (I know save longer). Any suggestions for something less expensive? I would need to be able to mount a red dot sight on it as well.

I don't have a suggestion for you, but you can try the bullseye-l emailing list for good recommendations of target grade .22 revolvers. There are occasionally used revolvers for sale there as well.

What's your budget?

I'd recommend a used S&W 17 or 18, but they're not that cheap.

There are a variety of H&R 22's out there, and they're typically not very expensive, but I'm not that familiar with the models. Maybe someone who is can recommend one.
