Help date this Colt Python

I'm purchasing a Colt Python and would like to know it's year of MFG. The serial is V03xxx. Thanks

Made in either 1978 or '79.

1978 started the "V" series off at V01001, and 1979 started at V36737.

1980 started at V88374.
