Vacation in Alaska and CC . . .

Okay, so if I get my handgun legally to Alaska, via packed in regular checked luggage according to air line regs, I can carry it CC . . . right. Oh, and I don't think it matters but I have CC license via Illinois.

Life is good.

Yes. Probably should still check local laws though.

Alaska does reciprocate other states carry permits.

If you do get stopped by ANY law enforcement officer (local PD, State Troopers, Fish/Wildlife, Village Police Officer, etc) simply hand over your photo ID, carry permit, and cheerfully say "State law requires me to show you these, and advise you that I am carrying."

Alaska does not "reciprocate" with other states' permits. They recognize them. That said, if you're over 21 no permit is required to carry in Alaska, so reciprocity/recognition of other states' permits is of no concern.

Alaska state law requires that you inform an officer if you are carrying. It does not require you to show a permit (since no permit is required), and it does not appear to require that you present any ID, let alone a photo ID.
