Browning theftguard gun safe?

I just picked up a Browning Theftguard gun safe today with the pushbutton keypad, and was wondering how to replace the battery, or when it should be changed assuming that it even had a battery to change, does anyone have any info about these gun safes?

The Theftgard is a Chinese import distributed by Pro Steel, and licensed under Browning.

The lock should be a LaGard Basic that uses a single 9 volt battery beneath the keypad. To access the battery, slide the keypad straight up (towards the top of the safe). This will detach it from the two screw mounts that hold it in place. The battery is tucked into the back of the keypad.

When ready to replace the keypad, tuck as much of the cable as possible into the back of the keypad. Match the screws to the holes, and slide it back down.
