Win model 1400 and slugs

I have a 12 ga Winchester 1400 Mk II with a modified choke. Is there an issue firing slugs through this gun?
Any other comments will be appreciated. I'm going hog hunting in Florida with my neighbor.

In a word, no.

The longer reply is that the reason that slugs have rifling is so that they can be shot in just about any choke shotgun (within feason that is). The rifling doesn't really put an appreciable amount of spin on the slug, but it does allow it to squeeze through a modified choke. Sabots are pretty much self explanitory. The plastic sabot will flex enough to get through. You aren't going to get great accuracy shooting a slug, saboted or not, through a smooth bore shotgun, but it should be good for hunting out to 100 yards or so. You may have to try several different brands to get a good enough pattern at 100 yards, but it's in there somewhere.
