same powder?

Can H110 and W296 use the same loading data?

Is a certain charge weight of one the same charge weight as the other?

Your best bet is to contact Hodgdon but yes, they are the same:

Are H-110 and Winchester 296 the same stuff? This question has been bandied around for years. I though maybe you could put it to rest. An addition to your FAQ with this topic would be helpful.

Thanks!
Again, with questions like this the very best source is contacting the manufacturer or distributor of a product.

<EDIT> The "Email Address Removed" is where I removed the Email Address. </EDIT>

A quick google search seemed to indicate that H110 to W296 are the same powder.

However I can't and won't 100% say that is true, it would be best to ask the powder manufacturer. Hodgdon makes H110 and they own Winchester powders so call them and ask or send an e-mail to be sure.

One has a Hodgdon label, one has a Winchester label.

Can they use the same loading data? They have the exact same loading data on Hodgdon's reloading data center and in their manuals. Doesn't get any more same than that.
