Washington State Elk / GMU 564

Hello hunters. Have any of you ever hunted Elk in GMU 564 (battleground) in south western Washington State? It is one of two "any elk" gmu's in the State. Just looking for opinions on just about anything you can supply. Thank you in advance.

Unit 564 is heavily populated, suburban homes & small farms (private property) & they don't want elk here, hence the either sex rule. The elk are few, it's not a "real" elk hunting area & it's a firearm restricted area. That being said I suppose there are some taken on the eastern & northeastern fringes of the area.

ialungo, thank you. My sister has ten acres that has about a dozen elk on it frequently. They damage fences, gardens and even the lawn. Are you aware of the restrictions for firearms?

Yes, shotgun, muzzleloader etc. Check page 73 of the regs.

I decided to use my Super Blackhawk with Buffalo Bore 305 Grain loads. My only shot gun is my father's (long deceased) 16 gauge Ithica Feather weight with a modified bore. If I could find the ammo, I don't think (opinions?) anything but shot is good for anything but a open bore.. right?
