Upper rifle in top picture is best for 3 position; prone, kneeling and standing.
Lower rifle in top picture is best for prone. Difference is the stock shape and attachments. https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=...Pcn0aXtggY8yTM Last edited by Bart B.; November 6, 2020 at 10:32 AM. |

Thank you; so, the prone rifle has no thumb hole or butt hook, but it has adjustable butt pad for up/down, but can't be "canted". Butt stock is not as tall to allow a lower hold.

Some 22 rimfire match rifles have their rear sight canted 30 degrees to compensate for cross wind. Winds from 3 o'clock cause bullets to drift toward 10 o'clock on target; towards 4 o'clock with wind from 9.
This is for barrels with right hand twist. Last edited by Bart B.; November 6, 2020 at 03:54 PM. |
