savage 17hmr magazine?

I've noticed if I slap my magazine in with any force (and an open bolt) all the bullets fly out.Is this normal? When I got home I loaded the mag and smacked it on the table and the same thing happend.I've not seen this before-whats up? It was kind of embarassing showing off my new gun, and inserting the mag all the bullets flew out.3 times in a row.

It is not normal.I have no idea why it is doing this. You may try doing while watching to see what is taking place that allows the cartridges to exit the mag.

Call Savage and have them send you a new mag.

Thanks- I guess I shoulda looked into it a little more.Turns out the top lipps of mag were just a tad too wide open- the cartridges could slip thru.once the first one went the spring sent them all.A very slight squeeze with a pliers took care of it.Tested it out a bunch of times, its all good now.
