Powder - Vihtavuori N140 - 40.2 gr

Nice shooting. Seems like you found a good load. Wind, cheek weld , hold & trigger press , it's a wonder how we get tight groups. Not to mention barrel temp. What is your trigger set at ? Are you using a strong , medium or light hold ? I put a thermal strip on my barrel when it reaches 113 range warm , I let it cool. I just like to know better then just feeling the barrel. My 308 started out as a 700 LTR , after I shot 4000+ down the original barrel , had a match grade barrel installed with a complete blue printing , Jewell trigger set at 10 ounces a custom break by Bruce McArthur , Ken Farrell base an rings. It's my one an only 308 just love shooting it. New York weather will be warming up, can't wait. I shoot mostly 168gr.SMK will give the TMK a try this summer.

I had two loads which showed good groups - 43,9 gr and 42,2 gr - but only the lighter load have good synchronization with the harmonics vibration of the barrel and holes on target are connected at 300 meters.

Ranges in LI NY are max.. 200 yards . My accuracy load using Federal brass is 40.5 gr. IMR 4064 under a 168 gr. SMK when I do my part, it groups 3/4 10 shot groups and sometimes better. Wish the ranges here would go longer. NY isn't gun friendly.

To shoot more than 100 meters I have to drive about 30 kilometers but to shoot more than 1000 meters ..... hmm 150 kilometers from home (or on a military area - which is near 15 km - but it is not easy to do with the authorities, sometimes club organizes such training but not often, army must also practice )

Yesterday I spent whole day on the long range.
I practiced shooting from 300 to 800 meters.
600 and 800 meters I shot first time in my life.
Below result.
Difference in the muzzle velocity was between 767 - 773 m / s , (2516 - 2536 ft / s)
Generally, I'm satisfied with myself - I have a good ammunition and a good rifle shooter .... still needs to work on breath
