It might be a fun toy or even useful in some circumstances, but a full butt stock is a far better option on a home defense shotgun. A full butt stock helps the shooter stabilize the gun and, therefore, shoot more accurately. A full butt stock enables the shooter to make additional shots, if necessary, much more quickly and accurately. If you think you need, or just want, a shorter butt stock on a home defense shotgun just cut down the stock or, as I did, install a youth stock on the shotgun.

Does Remington make anything that can be changed like this? An PGO receiver? can't think of anything but then again scatter cannons aren't my thing.

Also if anyone has a damaged mossberg wood stock and pump they would be willing to part with please let me know.

Remington has started making a factory made pistol grip 870.
The same rules should apply.

Shot it today. Lotta fun. Grouping was fair. Shot buck shot. mine took out a four inch chunk out of the wood back stop. Recoil is minimal, one handed is quite fun also. Totally happy with it's performance.

You guys are killing me, all this shockwave talk has me wanting to sling some shot though my Thunderranch. Unfortunately, I had surgery for a torn bicep yesterday and I think that would work out poorly for me...

Model12Win, does yours have a sling swivel on the end of the pistol grip &/or was there one included in the box with the gun?

I see some have it and some don't. There's a youtube video of Clint Smith with one that has it.

By the way looks good and I plan to buy one.

Yep, looks great!!! If I didn't already have 2 pump actions, neither of which I can sell to replace with the Shockwave (one is duty issue and the other a gift from my dad). My next and last shotgun is going to be a SxS coach gun so unfortunately the Shockwave is out but man do I wish I could justify it....
But hey, I retire in 8 years and the 870 goes away, I think the Shockwave could be added to the safe then...

No and no. But I don't care, I have no plans to sling it anyway.

Dropped mine today. I couldn't handle slugs one handed. Got a few free dings but I was fun.
