The Colt New Agent gets the most holster time. The little Sig gets pocket duty in warm weather when I can't hide the Colt.

The Kimber is the nicest and the most accurate of the lot, but I do love the Colt.

Very nice collection! Looks damn nice! I particularly like the Colt. I wanted that to be my next firearm but they are quite pricey.

I'm thinking a 1911 will be my next. the Ruger SR1911 with Wilson Combat magazines seems like a good start. I'd love one of those 'lil New Agents someday.

Why not give your family some "cousins" to play with and go get some nice Hi-Powers?

Every child needs the chance to play with their cousins.

The family has tons of cousins and uncles......just not a HP yet. When I am bored, I'll snap a pick of all their wheel gun friends and other semi autos not of the1911 bloodline.

Very nice, though I wouldn't call either Sig a 1911.

What is a 1911? Does it have to be 45 and 38 Super only?

What is a proper Commander/Officer clone? Is it the chambering, the size, the overall function?

Does it need to have 80-90% parts interchangeable with other "established" 1911s?

What exactly is a Series 70 and 80 these days?

Does it NEED to have an internal extractor?

Can you make the frame out of alloy?

Is the Les Baer monolith a 1911?

No offence to all those copies and imitations but none of them are 1911s. The Model 1911 was the .45 automatic that army used to have on issue. Colt makes reference to the Model 1911 but they didn't list such a model for sale, the last time I looked. They have the Government Model. And as you all know, in the army everyone called the .45 autos. It was actually referred to as an automatic pistol, too, not a semi-automatic pistol, which probably disturbs some people.

They have to be interchangeable and use true 1911 parts. As mentioned above, non of them, nor are most of mine true-to-=original spec 1911s.

However, three of those are enhanced 1911 clones and two are not. I mean, I guess you could call the rimfire a "clone" at least outwardly. The 238 uses basically nothing from a 1911.

No offense meant. Like I said, its a very nice collection.

What are "true" 1911 parts? How many "1911" pistols made today are composed 100% of true 1911 parts? And if they aren't and "fall short" in some way (for instance, enhanced sights on the otherwise original [?] new Remington "1911"), does that automatically disqualify them from having true 1911 status?
Aside from the SIG pistols you excepted, which others of the op's fine collection can be described as being the real thing, a "true" 1911 pistol? From what I can see, all of the rest have features that were never found on original 1911 pistols, including (but not limited to), different triggers, different sights, different hammers, "enhanced" beavertails; not to mention the cosmetic and/or improved ergonomic changes on them, such as beveled grip housings, front cocking serrations, etc.
And, when determining what exactly constitutes a "true" 1911 pistol, thedudeabides asked an interesting question: "Is the Les Baer monolith a 1911?"

Honestly, I don't care. I meant no offense.

If you want to consider the Sig 238 or the several rimfire replicas on the market to be 1911s, more power to you. It makes no difference to me.

The OP has a fine collection either way.

I doubt that you offended anybody, bac1023. It's a gun forum. People talk about guns. You made an interesting point that others (myself included) responded to. You have complimented the op's nice collection more than once and I certainly have.
