A good green laser

I'm in the market for my first laser, a green one with NO flashlight. I'll swap it between different guns, so I'd like something pretty compact and universal. Initially I was all set on the Viridian C5, but then I came across the Crimson Trace CMR-206 which is also very highly rated...but it's over $100 less expensive! $124 vs $239. Nothing jumps out at me as a reason why the Viridian is so much more. Is it more durable perhaps? Not sure if I'm missing something. Is the Crimson Trace a good buy at that price? Thanks for any advice.

If I remember correctly, when I was looking at the two in comparison, the CT had a much shorter battery life.

Apparently they do use up batteries faster.
But they sure do seem to be easier to see, especially in daylight.
And batteries are cheap.
As far as how much you will need to spend for one, that will kind of depend on what it's going to be used.
The more stress the better a scope needs to be.
I have one in green that came for free on a airgun.
And it works ok on .22s.
Probably wouldn't last long on a .45, though.
What are you planning to use it for and on?

I would be using the laser at the range on a weekly basis, and if I like it, I may opt to put on my HD gun. I have 3 PPQ's: one in .22, one in 9mm, and one in .45--I plan to swap between the three of them. As I've read more reviews of the Crimson Trace, many users are reporting that it holds zero very well even with .45's and other heavy hitters. The more I look into it, the more the Crimson Trace looks like the way to go!
