1860 Army Grips

I'm in search of some wood grips that may be close enough to what I need that they can be modified to serve. What I have is a Hawes (JP Sauer) Western Sixshooter -- the large frame Hawes. I don't care for the plastic, imitation stag grips.

Ruger grips don't fit. Pietta 1851 Navy grips are too short. I'm hoping that 1860 Army grips might be long enough to fit, or to be oversized and allow me to trim them down.

If anyone has an 1860 Army clone by Uberti or Pietta, I would appreciate it if you could take the measurements shown and get back to me.

Thanks.

Plenty of faux ivory and MOP grips.

I know you asked for Uberti or Pietta; this is an ASM 1860 grip:

A: 3-1/2"
B: 4-5/8"

Regards,

Jim

I have seen both of those sites. Neither has any wood grips. I'm looking for wood.

Perfecto.

Thank you, Gentlemen. That's more than long enough for the grip frame, although the contour may be wrong. Now to see about scaring up a cheap pair of grips and find out if they can be cut down to fit the Hawes.

Good luck with your endeavors! You might try VTI or Ebay.

Jim
