Three things come to mind:
1) The great .380 drought when cheap practice FMJ was selling for over $1 per round. I don't own a .380 so I don't know if this has ended yet. 2) The great primer scare of 2008-2009 3) The great semi-auto scare of 2008-2009. Seriously people, you didn't learn the lesson from between 1994-2004? As soon as the AWB sunsetted I bought a gazillion full capacity mags for every gun I own, and a couple of AR's with evil flash hiders and bayonet lugs. We had four good years to save our pennies and learn from the past, but once the Barackalypse came AR's were right back up to selling briskly at preban prices. Buy it now if you think you'll ever need it. Buy it now. Seriously-buy it now. |

They must of thought that sp2022 was a steel sig. I want to get one but I thought $508 was too much, so I'll be shopping around. But over $800? I feel lucky now. I've seen them online for $360

The cost of 380 ammo everywhere.
The only things that make me madder are Exxon, bankers and congressmen. At least I can choose to not deal with the 380 ammo and I won't ever pay those robbery price hikes for it. Someone at the 380 ammo factory must be smoking crack. |

I saw a FEG PA-63 for sale at a local pawn shop the other day for $259. One mag, no holster, 60% condition on the finish and the guy proceeded to tell me how rare they are. I pulled out my Driod and proved him wrong, he wasn't thrilled.$175 all day long with extras in much better shape and he was offended with my $150 offer.

Everything at Gander Mountain or Bass Pro. Every new firearm I've seen there is at minimum $100 higher than any local gunshop. Sometimes it's much higher than that. Their ammo prices are equally ridiculous. I fail to grasp how they sell anything. Try trading anything in there and hilarity ensues when they offer you a hundred bucks for a $400 dollar rifle. It's a joke.

After the 1994 ban, all magazines that held more than ten rounds were selling for absurd prices. People still bought them. 2008, prices went through the roof again on anything firearms related. People still bought them. Just like the housing market, prices eventually come back in to line and the people that did the panic buying are stuck. Buyers should know what they are buying. |

There's a guy with a used Glock 19 on a certain AR-related forum that's asking $900....plus shipping. It's stock with 2 magazines.
