Lubeing round balls
I've been casting REALs and Mini's using Lee molds and have been happy with lubing them with LLA and then dusting with mica.......can I do the same with .454 round balls? If I do and use grits as a filler with target loads can I leave off the wonder wads and bore butter over the balls?

If it was me, I would not leave out the WW. Never had a chain fire with WWs, never lubed a ball using WWs.

The only reason to lube a round ball is to reduce leading at extreme loadings. Patched round ball uses the patch as its lube surface. Revolver velocities are rarely of a velocity to cause leading in an unpitted barrel.
That said, I lube my Rem 1858 round balls with Alox, just 'cause. Use the Wonder Wads or equivalent. They are your friend. Pops

Alox is a petroleum based lube. I wouldn't use it no way no how in a bp bore or chamber. Just makes cleanup harder.
