replacement grips

Can anyone recommend the best source for original parts? I recently inherited a S & W 32 long CTG, and the first three numbers are 119. Both grips are cracked and broken. The revolver is nickel and black grips. Any info on this would be appreciated.

You need to post clear pictures of the gun.
S&W 32 long CTG is the caliber.

As Bill says, CTG is only the abbreviation for "cartridge", and appears as a caliber designator on several models.

You'd need to show photos to determine which .32 you've got.

Swing out the cylinder and look here for a model number. If this area is blank it was made before 1957 (?) and there is no model number.

It's very likely a pre-1957 gun and has no model number stamped. Posting pictures would be the best option.

Get a hold of a copy of the book "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" 4th Ediion by Jim Suppica and Richard Nahaas and refer to pages 33 to 38.

We don't even know that the gun is a S&W.

Correct....The only indication that it could be a S&W is the cartridge nomenclature on the barrel.

Duh

Thanks Bill

"...indication that it could be a S&W..." The cartridge stamp doesn't indicate anything but the chambering.
"...nickel and black grips..." Suggests IJ, H&A or the like. We'll just have to wait until wpcnc comes back.
