primers small pistol mag
I have heard conflicting info regarding use of small pistol mag primers in small pistol/ I have heard one guy say NOT to use in small rfle ammo for use in AR. With primers a scarcity, can i use cci small pistol mag primers in 223 ammor for aR 15?

While I've read of using small rifle primers in place of small pistol, I don't recall anyone recommending using small pistol in place of small rifle. IIRC, the small rifle primer is harder than small pistol, so there is some concern the small pistol primer could be pierced by high pressure generated in a rifle round.

According to COSteve's conversation with CCI, documented in this thread, CCI SR and SPM primers are identical.
