Bullet speed

If you can shoot a group over a chronograph you could rule out velocity differences as a cause of the vertical stringing.

Barrel bedding or temperature changes would likely be more uniform in order, but you stated the spacing was random.

Primer seating might cause different burn rates (not too likely) Bullet seating depth would cause pressure variations, as would an inconsistent crimp or varying bullet weights. All would show up as velocity variations.

Yup they are right with the screws. I lock tight everything. Just dont use the wrong lock tight or you wont get them apart.
