.204 Ruger Loads

Anyone have load advice for .204 ruger to shoot coyotes with?

A warm charge of Varget (though not max by my manuals) works really well for me under a 32grn V-Max (groups in the .2's-.3's, really!!).

However, terminal results on racoons and feral critters indicates to me that for coyotes you might want a 40 to 45 grn bullet. Try these in your gun, my Howa doesn't quite stablize the larger (longer) bullets and the groups grow some.

I don't know of anyone around here actively using a .204 on coyotes, but I would think that within reasonable ranges with the heavier bullets it should work fine. In fact, the lighter bullets might work if you found one with slightly heavier construction than my V-Max's. They tend to just explode, great for the smaller stuff, but I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting a larger animal with them.
