Cimmeron pistalero 45 long colt

Anyone have any experience with these Single Action 1873 replicas?
I am looking at picking up 2 of these for Cowboy action and Fast draw activities.
Buds Guns has these for $387 each and I need to get started.
I know Ruger is good but out my price range since I am also looking for a Marlin lever action 94, 45 LC, 10+1 with a 20" barrel, not to mention the 20" double barrel 12 gauge coach gun.

I have a Cimarron model P and would take it over a Ruger any day.

The Italian guns are fine for CAS. I have an old ASM Cimarron myself.

Fast draw is very hard on the guns. I would want to talk to somebody with experience before buying. Cowboy Fast Draw limits gun choice and modifications.

I have a Cimarron Model P and numerous Ruger Blackhawks. I like both, but for true-to-the-original, it has to be the Cimarron. Mine is in 44-40 to match my replica 1873 (and to eliminate the possibilty of loading a hot .45 Colt). I load mine with Alliant Black MZ and make smoke.

Cimarron is an importer, they do not make anything. Most of their revolvers are made by Uberti, but I think they may have started importing some Piettas recently too.

I have had two Cimarron Cattlemen, both chambered for 45 Colt, both bought used.

The first one was a dog. Worst trigger pull of any revolver I ever felt, and the barrel was not screwed in properly, the front sight leaned to one side, causing all the shots to go to one side. I got rid of it and used the money towards a Ruger.

I took a chance on another one a couple of years later and it was OK. Not a Colt, but not too bad. I still have it. I only shoot it with Black Powder.

As stated, Fast Draw is very hard on guns. Most of the guns in Fast Draw have been heavily modified for the sport. Cowboy Fast Draw not so much. You should look into it more before you spend your money on a gun for Fast Draw.

I'm looking at the same model in .357, hope to pick one up in the next month or two.

I think I'll go for the nickel or polished stainless look(don't remember exactly what the finish is but I want the shiney one)

I prefer a blued finish, not to much into flashy things.
I have heard good things about the Italian guns and for a few months borrowed a set of Uberti's, they were slicked and shot very well. I can't remember which model.
I like the looks of all of them but need a starter set so to speak.
With the Cowboy fast draw shooting wax bullets I will use 2, one primary and one back up, they will be rotated in use so as to keep the wear and tear even.

It doesn't matter if you use wax bullets, live rounds or empty chambers. With fast draw the damage to the gun is going to be the same. It won't wear parts out as fast as fanning but it will greatly accelerate wear.

A friend managed both, although not the same day.
