Sig 556 Trigger adjustment

I have a feeling not too many people on here have a Sig 556 or are familiar with it's trigger (definitely not an AR trigger). I think it has the same trigger as the Swiss SG551 rifle. It is a two stage trigger.

Anyways, I upgraded it with Shootingsight's trigger upgrade (new hammer & sear), which vastly improved the 2nd stage break. My issue however, is with the first stage. It's long and heavy for a first stage. I'm not sure if there is a way to lighten the first stage or not. If anybody has experience with that rifle's trigger, please let me know your experience/thoughts.
