i own own a star model 38 in 9mm largo, and i'm having troule finding ammo locally...i know .38 super will fit weapon, but are loaded too hot...but i've heard of a conversion kit for 9mm luger....is there such a thing, and are luger loads too hot for my older pistol?

At one time, Star sold barrels for the 9 x 19 for that pistol, but I think they are out of business now. You might check on the web to see if anyone is importing Star pistols and also try the parts places like http://www.gunparts.com.
It is possible to convert a barrel like that, but would probably not be cost effective. Jim |
