I came across a box of .358 sized hard cast DEWC. Never having used an oversized bullet before in my .357 Ruger gp100, I'm wondering if it's safe. If so, will it cause excess leading even at low velocities?

Actually .358 is typical for cast lead bullets in the .38/.357 calibers. Jacketed bullets are typically .357, lead is normally sized one or two thousandths bigger. Should work just fine. Light target loads are called for with the wadcutters though due to the longer bearing area.

My most accurate lead-bullet Major loads through my pair of GP100's consists of 158g LRN miking .359".
Gotta try it all.......'cause you'll never know until you do.......
