I have a Winchester 1300 Defender and am looking to upgrade the sights for use in defense and maybe for hunting with slugs. Since I haven't decided how much I want to spend on this project, I would appreciate any recommendations on the best sight set up regardless of cost (ghostrings ?) and the best sight set up for the money (pistol/rifle sights ?).
Thanks |

MB...try an otpical fibre front sight called a 'GOBBLE-DOT'. Its cheap and all you really need for all light situations and goes on(and keeps on !) without gunsmithing. Rear sight in similar may be OK for slugs but gets in my way as regards speed for proper instinctive shotgunning. My advice is to leave it off.
For NO light situations, go for a large-dot lazer slung underneath the barrel to get it clear of the sights, with a pressure tit\switch on the rear, you can punch it off and on when cycling the action. I have both items on mine and they work well for me... but... try before you buy ! Let us know how you go. ------------------ ***Big Bunny*** |
