Eaa witness mags?

I just bought a eaa witness 9mm today for 300 bucks at a gun show. But it only came with 1 mag and the guy said he didn't know where to get them. I think the gun is a cz clone, anybody have any experience with them and know where to find mags for it?

Witnesses came in two frame sizes. The original small frame versions are almost clones of the original CZs, and can use the 9mm and .40 mags (but almost nothing else.)

In recent years, Witness phased out the small frame version, and everything now comes in the larger frame, and ONLY the CZ .45 mags will work with that gun -- as they all use the larger mag in the various calibers. (The CZ 9mm and .40 mags won't work in the newer Witnesses; they're much too small.)

Find out whether yours is a small or large frame. If small, you can use Mec-Gar mags for CZs or Witnesses, and they're great mags and very reasonably-priced.

Hey thanks for the info! How would one tell if I had a large frame or a small frame??

CDNN usually has EAA mags in stock for decent prices.

A CZ 9mm mag (which should be almost identical to a small-frame Witness mag) is about 4.5" long, about .75" wide, and about 1.1" deep (the length of the mag as the round is inserted.)

The large frame mags have spacers of different sizes to handle the different round sizes, but are quite a bit larger: a bit longer, a bit wider, a lot thicker. Those mags won't fit in the small frame Witness gus -- way too big.

If it came with a 16 round mag and it is a full size gun you probably have a small frame. The large frame mags are 17 rounds from the factory. EAA has been importing small frame polymer guns lately. I have one.

Well the mag I got was a 17 rounder and after closer inspection I found it had "witness-p-f" on the grips. Does that stand for "polymer full sized?"

I believe that's right. Order them from the EAA website, include your serial number, and they will make sure you get the right ones. They give a discount on ordering two, which is what I did. Very happy, quick service.

Make sure the mags you get have a black follower and are marked "K9" on the right side of the magazine body. The orange follower full frame 9mm mags are known to cause nose dives. The one that came with my 9mm Witness Elite Match was horrid when loaded with more than nine or ten rounds. I picked up two of the newer ones from Midway a couple of years ago and they have run great. Their picture has since changed back to the orange follower but the ones I got were the updated ones. The polymer guns referred to in the review would be the P-S guns. These mags will work with the P-F.
