License to carry/FID card question

My friend wants to get his FID card but the waiting list is ungodly long and since hes going away to college in the fall, its not possible for him to make a trip back if a class is open. my question is if he takes the LTC class at smith and wesson here in springfield mass will that allow him to get his FID card. and by the way im here in western mass. And the mass. website isn't clear on whether or not thats possible. if anyone has any input please post a response all posts are greatly appreciated

well with a lil more looking and searchin and lookin up definitons i found out u can use the LTC class to get an FID card
