aimtech mounts = not machined correctly?

i recently ordered an aimtech mount from www.natchezss.com for my ruger p89 and the submount did not fit correctly on the grip panel. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has heard anything like this. The gun is used and seem to be in good cosmetic shape so im not sure what kind of force/damage (if any) could cause the mount to not fit on there correctly. It shoots fine and is in otherwise good condition so i dont know if it is the mount or the gun. Any advice is apprecited, i have returned the item and bought another one from a different site, so we will have to see how it works out. thanks for any help
