Trade value 6920 vs converted Saiga
Have an offer of a converted 7.62 saiga for my FDE LE6920. I haven’t been keeping up on values but I know the colts are discontinued now and the Saigas aren’t coming over. I have my preference of the two as far as AR vs AK but I have that covered already and this is strictly asking for long term collectors potential which you’d take?

AR's are everywhere. I think I'd lean towards the Saiga. I'm sorry I sold mine.

Keep the Colt AR! Don't even consider trading for a Siaga piece of crap!

The Saiga rifles are very high-quality rifles built on the same line as the modern AK-100 series rifles and have the same desirable features as those rifles (chrome-lined cold hammer-forged barrels, forged trunnions, good QA/QC, etc.). That said, the 6920s are excellent rifles as well. I wouldn’t want to give up a 6920, and I’d look for a way to keep it and acquire the Saiga. In terms of value, I can’t help you other than to say that Colt has started civilian sale of these rifles again (they were never discontinued and pre-orders for new examples can be found at various online retailers) whereas we are unlikely to see new Saigas on the market due to the import embargo on new Russian firearms. The value of the particular Saiga in question depends also on the extent and quality of the conversation work. . Last edited by Fishbed77; September 14, 2020 at 11:29 AM. |
