"Concrete lined"... It's going to be loud. Really loud.
There's a similar range in Scottsdale AZ, and you'd think every carbine fired was a howitzer. But I'm really glad to see them move in there.

Thanks

That's right there in Bowling Green just off 301 and I-95. I might have to ask about a free tour when they get it set-up. Cool

Not going to be a public range. Bummer.

Sure it's going to be a concrete tube.

But there are many ways of dealing with the pressure wave and noise from firing in such a facility.

When I was on staff at American Rifleman magazine our test range was in a similar facility -- an office park. The range itself was concrete all around -- 6 inches, IIRC. Even the entry door was armored.

We had sound insulation on the walls (think egg crate foam, but THICK), baffles, etc. For the REALLY big stuff (.50 BMG) there was also an attenuation tube, but we didn't like using it because it was a real pain in the arse.

I used one of the tube type in CO years ago and found they have little value as after a few shots there is so much turbulence in the tube the whole sighting thing is worthless
