Finish on Troy XM177E2
I purchased one of the Troy XM177E2 recently and was curious about the grey finish on the rifle. I contacted Troy and asked how the finish was done. After mulitple b.s. answers to my email requests I was finally told that Mr. Troy himself said that the finish is a secret. I did'nt want to know the process I just wanted to know if it was a durable finish. If its ceracoat thats ok if it's duracote its not ok. I tried to attach an original 3 power Colt carry handle scope to the rifle and noticed that underneath the top of the handle the gray had chipped off and the black anodizing was present. Does anyone know what the finish actually is? I got a feeling its either paint or duracote. Anyway I am dissapointed.

Thousand Island dressing is delicious. But it makes for a poor rifle coating.
