Bill the gun has been touched. The bluing is some of the best deep blue I have ever seen.
i had a problem taking the photo to excellent bluing |

It doesn't look like it was refinished to me. Value on these is pretty low. I would take it to the range and see how it does.

Look at the lettering on the barrel. The pictures could be misleading, but that doesn't look like pre-war S&W polishing to me.

Unless it's weird lighting, I agree that it's been reblued. That said, still a cool piece with box and receipt.

Well, my pre War Terrier only has about 75-80% of its original blue, but makes up for it with a set of walnut grips numbered to the gun. Although I "had" to have one to go with my post War Transitional 32 snub, it doesn't really get as much carry or range time as the 32 snub or the similar (OK, slightly bigger) 38 Spl Baby Chiefs Special. They are definitely a niche gun, but they're kinda cute!

I had trouble getting a good photo, getting glare off the gun. When I rub my finger over the trademark it is very rough no indication of buffing.
I will try to take photo outside with natural light and see if this makes a difference. |
