I still feel there is a Russian design behind it all.

Are you a Russian bot?

Making a MAGA AK, well, just seems like some kind of election interference to me. A MAGA AR-14, well, that's as American as you can get. Better hope Adam Schiff doesn't get wind of this.....

But seriously, I think it looks good, even if you are in a Russian Troll Farm.

Very nice build .
I have been doing a few AK builds in .308 these were considered not a desirable AK when they were sold buy Robinson Arms back in the day they had a weird Receiver cut ZDF-SLC-UT Had a non standard receiver cut angle that standard AK stocks would not fit the rifle .
Think I bought them new in boxes for $350 each .
That was a great now the both have the heavy RPK receiver and heavy chrome lined barrel .

I have a Saiga AK that’s been converted. I’m actually thinking of maybe selling it. What do Saiga’s go for?

I've never been turned n by AK's. Didn't not like them, appreciate the design, just not my thing. Love the build though. Maybe if I hankered down and built one, learned the gun, I'd feel differently. Beyond breaking it down for cleaning the bore, I'm lost on them.

Nice build, thanks for sharing the pics. She's a looker!

I will say this though, if Trump starts letting the Russian made Saigas and VEPRs being imported again than I could see a MAGA AK as something worth having.

Nice AK OP! I really like well done practical AKs.

This one is 100 american made. Palmetto State Armory, Magpul and SB Tactical.
Except the optic that's designed and sold by a US company but made in China.

Nicely done, but I don't see the point. To me, its like building a VW beetle with all American made parts. Good car, but doesn't make it an "American" car, just one made here...

just my feeling and not any kind of condemnation...

44AMP, you and I are of the generation that was taught that the AK was the "enemy's gun". Although it took a bit for me to warm up to them, I am thinking of getting one eventually. Of course, it will probably be one of the US made milled receiver with threaded barrel versions. Or maybe not. I have a basket case Galil under my bench, I could rebuild that. Or not. But they are a cool rifle and while not as easy to build as an AR, some folks like them for their sheer ruggedness.

Agree with "what's the point" ? How does a Russian AK build relate to MAGA ?

Curious. Tnakshooter, please fill me in on the logic, link, etc.

Remember the Meyers Manx dune buggy? That gave Mr. Meyers a nice little gig and spawned a whole industry. A bunch of American businesses were making parts for dune buggies and Baja Bugs.

So far there are no Russian guns on this thread.

I don't presume to speak for Tnakshooter, but IMO, the point is that AKs have recently built up a strong following in the US. As Scorch said, a lot of folks don't care where it was designed, it's "a cool rifle" and "some folks like them for their sheer ruggedness." Maybe some folks are looking for something that isn't another AR or "Pmag adapter" as the guys on Inrange like to say.

The American gun aftermarket is starting to see a market renaissance for supporting the AK. There are some companies that are solely in the AK aftermarket business. That's keeping some money in America. That's giving Americans jobs. Add to that companies like Palmetto State Armory who are making brand new 100% American made AKs.

Look at the parts list in the OP's AK. He probably spent more money on US made parts as he did on that Romanian AK parts kit. And even that pile of Romanian AK parts made money for an American importer, and possibly a reseller as well.

More MAGA proudly made in South Carolina.
