But... If you can afford an Arsenal or such AK for approx. $1200, you can also afford a Czechpoint VZ-58, which you realize, has the same general contour but is Not an AK. * Striker-fired bolt, short stroke piston. There is still a NIB example on Gunbroker, listed at about $1175, just like the one I bought three months ago. All of the others now list for more. Rob at AKOU (fairly recently) successfully completed a 5,000-rds. test with whichever version of a Czech VZ-58 (Not a Century 2008). Mine has no mount for any sort of scope, but the muzzle nut easily comes off, allowing the nice Slovakian brake to easily screw on and lock in place. Notice that the VZ 58s use only proprietary mags.
