Which Glock gen 5 to suppress?

I don't think I've seen a thread on this. My intuition would say the 19x, but I have zero experience with suppressors. If it matters, let's say for the purpose of home defense, not carry.

I vote 19 or 19x, whichever floats your boat. The 19 if your hand fits the shorter grip, the 19x if it doesn’t.

The 19 is a good choice for a silencer: it’s big enough that it can be used like a full-sized gun but it’s still smaller than a full-sized gun. The 26 is too small unless you’re carrying it. And if you’re carrying it you probably won’t have a silencer attached.

A can on the end of a pistol doesn’t do it for me but I’d have to agree that the 19X would probably at least balance better with a suppressor mounted than the rest of the alternatives.

G40MOS would be what I'd want suppressed.
It might lower the noise level enough so that the hogs all don't jump when I fire it

I have a gen 4 19 with a grip reduction so I could just use that. But I liked the feel of the 17.5 I held at the LGS. Haven't seen a 19X "in the wild" yet. Sounds like I "need" one.

If using it for home defense, the extra capacity of the 19X will be better than the standard 19, and the shorter barrel without the suppressor won’t make it too unwieldy when adding the extra length of the suppressor.

I have a threaded barrel for one of my 17's and one of my 26's. Suppressor works great on both, and both are easily shot well with the can mounted.

While I have a 19, Im not a fan of them, and didnt see the point.

I usually keep the suppressor on the 17 which also has a TLR1s mounted as well. Great for things out in the yard (or anywhere else for that matter), day or night.

I voted for the 19X. I run a suppressor on my G19 and love it, good weight and balance. If I were to choose from the list above then it would likely be the 19X, the added ammo will likely help balance out the platform and for home defense would be a plus.
