Winchester 62 and 62A

Could some of you Winchester experts please explain the difference between a Winchester Model 62 and 62A pump .22?

IIRC, they went to a different action slide, a larger foreend, and changed the hammer and trigger springs to coil springs. There were also changes to the bolt and the carrier to allow use of short, long or LR interchangeably.

I have always read that the changes to become the 62A were the improved springs and more stamped sheet metal parts (rather than milled).

But in the last few years, I've also seen the 62 referred to as the "stamped" model. So, I'm really not sure any more.

Oh, and the change to allow Short/Long/Long Rifle was part of the 1906's improvements (for the Model 62).
