Go old school: Get a Remington Model 8 auto loader in .35 rem.
Might not bet "the best" but it's my pick of the minute.

....and if you asked me now, just one minute later, I'd say how about a Winchester m-94 in .25-35. Yeah....I like that idea.
Or a scoped out Desert Eagle in .41, .44, or .50. .... WAIT! HOLD THE PHONE, I'VE GOT IT!: Who was it that was converting the M1 carbine to .50 AE a few years ago? Yeah! That.

25-06 is all I use.. My son likes his 6mm. My 15year old daughter took her first pig this year with her 22WMR behind the ear 1 shot. DRT at a very long distance.

Not so cheap but a Browning BAR in .300 WM or 9.3x62 should sit 'em down well...
