Simmons new Master Series Scopes

I'm looking for a moderately priced Scope for the rifle I have decided to get a Savage 12BVSS in .243. I would like a Leupold but my wallet won't reach there. A nikon would be tough. so I noted that Simmons has a new series of scopes out in the $200 range. I would need to order it so giving it back would be a headache at best. I haven't found one around here to fondle. I woas thinking about the 6-24X 44 SF Mod. 517703. I assume the optics are similar in this line of scopes so if anyone has had a chance to examine the new Simmons line I would like to know how they compare to the old simmons scopes. I know that Meade Optical bought Simmons and they have had a good name in the Astronomy world for years.

Have you looked at the Bushnell Legend series 5x15x40 mildot.

Good scope for under $200-

They haven't started shipping the higher powered Master Series scopes yet. I have a friend that calls Simmons regularly to see when to expect and they keep saying "next month". These appear to be quite a value in a scope. I plan on putting one on my 12BVSS 22/250 as soon as they are available!

I heard a rumor from "a usually reliable source" that they will start shipping after the Shot Show.
