Walther PPQ M2 backstraps
I just got a used Walther PPQ with Ameriglo night sights and 2 extra mags for a decent deal, but it only came with the gigantic size backstrap. I have looked all over the web even the Walther store and I can’t find a small backstrap anywhere. Anywhere! Heck I’d even settle for a medium if I could find one.
Does anyone have better Google fu than me? I could use some guidance. I love the trigger on this gun , but if I can’t find a better fitting backstrap I might have to sell it. That would be a shame because I could see it taking over for my M&P 9 compact. |

Maybe call Walther tomorrow? You would think it would be on the store but maybe they keep some in stock otherwise.

Thanks TunnelRat. That’s going to be my next course of action if this post doesn’t give me any better ideas.

When it comes to parts my usual spots are Brownells, MidwayUSA, and Shooter's Connection. But in honesty I really haven't sourced Walther parts beyond magazines.

There's a few on fleabay for sale (but it seems they are all large), and I would keep check there. You can do a saved search and you can be set up to be notified by email.
If it were me, for the 10.00 asking price, I would get it and grind it down to the size I wanted. You can fill the voids with jb weld black plastic bonder and then grind as flat as you wish, polish it out and stipple as needed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Walther-PPQ...IAAOSwC8FdDqaC

Call Walther directly. You might as well buy a new recoil spring assembly too since pistol is used.

Well, after a 2 minute phone call with Colton @ Walther I have the small and medium backstraps on the way. Had my credit card ready to go and didn’t even need it. 2 free backstraps coming for someone who bought a used Walther. I’d say that’s excellent customer service.

I really like Walther C/S based on my positive experience with the PPS-M2 recall.

Well I got my backstraps in the mail yesterday. Called Walther Monday and received the backstraps on Friday. Pretty good. The invoice had each backstrap at 14.95 and shipping was $9.95 for a nearly $40 value. At the bottom where the total should’ve been displayed it said $0.00.
I don’t usually buy gun shirts or hats because I don’t like to be a free advertisement for big companies but since they gave me something worth $40 I figure buying a hat or shirt from the Walther store is the least I can do. |
