RE-loads for competition
What heads are the most accurate in a 659 .38 revolver?
Can't use WC in the 480 match because of the speed loader use. TIA |

Don’t most bullseye shooters just use plated RN?

I shot PPC for several seasons, wadcutters in speedloaders every time except Distinguished. What's your problem?
Lead roundnose swaged, cast+lubed or coated would be good, JHP will do well. Plated would be about my last choice for accuracy greater than IDPA. |

S&W .38 I think it's the stainless of the 586 model.
Semi wad in lead or plated. I have berry 158g plated (I think) not accurate at all. |

I use reloads for my bowling pin matches - a 255gr SWC in .45 ACP.

"...most bullseye shooters just use plated RN?..." No. Cast or swaged, 148 grain, WC's for bullseye. So do most PPC shooters.
A Smith M659 is not a revolver or a 9mm. You'd best figure out what you have first. "...heads are the most accurate in a..." The bullet, not a head, is not what determines accuracy in a particular firearm. Part of it, but you do not select the bullet according to what firearm shoots it best. You select the bullet and work up a load your revolver shoots best.
