Tell me more about my 629-4...
I have a stainless 3" 629-4 in .44 magnum with what looks like a factory Houge grip. Serial number is BRU7xxx. Can someone tell me when it was made or anything else about it?

There was a special run of 3" 629's in 1994 called the Backpacker. It was product code 130450 if you have the original box to verify. Quote:

WOW!
Thank you very much!
Yeah, no prefixes. Just 595xxx on the bottom of the butt grip in the metal! It's got a really cool extremely old looking leather holdster too. What's 4th change mean? Is it worth a lot of money? Or worth more keeping as a family heirloom? Is it Antiques Roadshow worthy? Or more like just personally cool in the family? |

As with any collectable, condition is very important. Value can range from $200 in only good condition to over $1200 in like new with original box and accessories. Since it's being passed down to you from your grandfather I would not part with it. Jim |

AHC in Jan 86 to AVB in July 87 is as close as the book gets. But I would guess that AHL would be pretty early in 86. Jim |
