HBN bullet coating

I impact coated a batch of Barnes TSX .224 bullets with hbn and now I have the hbn inside the hollow point. Think this will keep the TSX from expanding in soft tissues?
Thanks.

It could go either way, I think. On one hand, I can visualize the stuff acting similar to the way a poly tip will disrupt a V-Max. But on the other hand, I have read about tests of various bullets that did not expand and the common trait they shared were the non-expanded ones tips were fully of gypsum board (dry wall, sheetrock) dust stuff. If it were me, I'd probably take 2 or 3 seconds with each round and have a go at it with a dental pick, sewing needle, or something of the sort.

By the way, I've become a huge fan of HBN over the past few years. However, I just swab the barrels with it as part of a break in process. Great stuff.

Nope. A TSX is a solid copper bullet anyway. A V-Max is not. They both require velocity for reliable expansion.
Read this though.
