My wife's uncle gave me a hi-power Browning from his own personal collection over the Christmas holidays. He says that he used it when he was in the service back in the 1950's -- I was always under the impression that our military used 1911's. Anyway. How do I field strip it. I can pretty much field strip a browning BDA, a colt 1911 and various S&W pistols with my eyes closed but I can't seem to figure out how to get the process started with the hi-power. Any pointers that anyone can offer will be appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge the Browning Hi-Power was not an item of issue by the Army. However...the Browning H-Power was used by a lot of us that was in Special Forces back in the 50s. The reason being was S.F. was not allowed to use weapons of American manufacture. When a team was deployed it had to be sterile. ------------------ "Lead, follow or get the HELL out of the way." |

Thanks to everyone who provided me with instructions on how to field strip the Hi-Power. Once I got past properly lining up the slide and removing the lever, everything else was no problem -- I was able to take it apart and put it back together again. I can't wait for the week-end to take it out to the range.
