maybe you should ask for the load using RE15...you would get more responses.
edit: Imr 4064 would be a good start,,42ish grains |

The bench guys around here have settled on 43.6 grs IMR4895, Federal 210 match primer in Remington brass. OAL is 2.700. The bullet is the Horn. HPBT match bullet. I would expect the A Max to fly the same.

I would try a gander at 41.3 gr IMR-4895. That's running about 2600 FPS out of a 20" barrel. MOA accuracy or better load can be developed using IMR-4895.
RL-15 is better in my bolt guns as well. About 42.5 gr with a 168 gr SMK is sub-MOA at 200 yards. |

I like to run 41.5 of IMR 4895 with 165 SST's, and 41 even with 175 SMK's. IMR 4895 is the best overall powder I have used in my .308

I got my best .308 groups at about 2,600 fps with jacketed bullets and about 1,800 fps with gas-checked cast bullets.
By the way, 2,600 fps with 150 grain bullets is just about perfect for deer. That is "about perfect" if all you want to do is kill every deer you center-punch. Now if you want to ruin a bunch of meat, there are lots of loads that will achieve that effect. 4895 worked very well for me in .308. JMHO - YRMV |

I get under .25 (5) shots groups @ 100 yds and .27 (5) shots groups @ 200yds with Hodgdon 4895. Hodgdon 4895 is very similiar to IMR 4895. 43.5 gr with 168 SMK (.02 off lands), FN PBR-XP .308. Have tried BT, but my gun likes HP. This combo works for me, try at your own risk.
